Spooky Spider cheeseball

Cheese, cheese, cheese and more cheese who doesn’t love cheese?!? I know my guests do. I wanted to make sure my appetizers were on point this year for my Halloween party, so I racked my brain for a great idea and finally it hit me, make a spider cheeseball! This cheeseball is super delicious and making the spider was a breeze.

What you will need for your spider cheeseball.

  • 2 packages of 8oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup of grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • Ranch dip seasoning packet
  • Fresh dill (2 or 3 stems chopped fine)
  • Green onions (1/4 cup)
  • Bacon
  • Pecans *optional

Soften the cream cheese and cook up your pack bacon. Cook the bacon so it’s crispy,  once done chop it into small pieces and set aside, to let cool.

In a medium mixing bowl combine all ingredients (not the pecans) and mix thoroughly.

Once you have the mixture smooth. Place some clear wrap down and we can start to make our spider.

In the clear wrap. You will need 2 balls, one for the head and one for the body and 4 long tubes of cheese.

Now that we have our spider parts let’s put him in the fridge to harden. Let chill for at least an hour. You can even put it in the freezer to make sure it’s hard when you cut the tubes in half to make 8 legs.

we finally use the pecans! This step is optional, I love to use pecans, they had a great texture to the cheeseball. Grind the pecans up in a food processor.

Take the chilled or frozen cheeseball and roll all parts in the pecans. Then assemble your spider. Serve with crackers on the side.

This spooky, yet adorable spider will wow your guests and make you the hostess with the mostest this Halloween!
